本次展览将展出德国文艺复兴时期艺术家 albrecht dürer 的约120件绘画、木版画和蚀刻版画，展现其作品题材的广泛。重要展品包括他的代表作「启示录」和「圣母玛利亚的一生」系列以及《母亲》《铜线工坊》《荷兰之旅速写本》等。
展览将以 dürer 的作品为引入点，探索1831年至1994年柏林版画素描博物馆馆藏历史的各个阶段，从博物馆成立之初到德意志帝国建立，再到纳粹时期、战后时期以及柏林国家博物馆的合并，思考德意志民族认同感的形成、拿破仑时代的艺术品转移及其对欧洲艺术市场的影响、藏品归属争议等问题。
